About LYSS
Mission: To introduce youth, ages 8 through 17, to sailing and promote comfort on the water. Safety and fun are the main functions of the school.
LYSS classes set the foundation of safety, seamanship, and sportsmanship. You must be at least 8 years old to take the class. Sailors begin with classroom instructions, then sailing with instructors, then in pairs, and then alone, depending on comfort level. Variety, fun, and skill building are the core of the curriculum. Games, both on and off the water, and nomenclature are important parts of the class. Each student will receive an LYSS t-shirt with registration.
The Ludington Youth Sailing School is an IRS 501(c)3 not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization, incorporated in the State of Michigan.
